Who we are

Kindling is operated by Kindling Tech Pty Ltd (ABN 28 671 860 030), a company registered in Australia ("Kindling", "we", "us"). Kindling helps B2B companies build trust and distribution through the content they publish. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. You can reach us about anything in this policy at stan@kindlingtech.co.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, work email address and company details.

Connected social accounts. When you choose to connect a social account (such as LinkedIn or X), you authorize us — via the platform's official authorization flow — to access your public post history, post performance metrics (impressions, reactions, comments, shares), follower counts and account type. We never see or store your password, and we do not access your private messages or your connections list.

Engagement on your posts. When people interact publicly with content you publish (for example, liking or commenting on your posts), the platform makes information about that engagement available to you as the post's author. With your authorization we collect it on your behalf: the engager's name, professional headline, public profile link and photo, and the text of public comments. We may supplement this with publicly available professional information. We use it solely to help you understand which audiences your content reaches and resonates with.

Usage information. We collect standard product analytics about how you use Kindling so we can improve it.

How we collect it

Directly from you, when you provide it.
Through the social platforms' official APIs, with your authorization — either directly or via certified API partners of those platforms. Authorization uses OAuth (with PKCE), the same standard used by Google, Apple and Microsoft.
From publicly available sources.

What we use it for

Analyzing which content topics and formats perform best for your audience.
Generating data-informed content ideas and tracking performance over time.
Helping you understand the audience your content is reaching.
Operating, securing and improving the service.

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers or third-party data brokers. We never post on your behalf without your explicit action.

LinkedIn and other platform data

Data from connected platforms is accessed only with your consent, only through official platform APIs, and only for the purposes described above. We handle it in accordance with each platform's developer policies. If you disconnect an account, the associated credentials are immediately and permanently deleted, and we stop collecting data for that account. You can ask us at any time to delete the platform data we hold for you.

Storage and security

All credentials are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption (AES) and are never stored in plain text. Our service runs on reputable cloud infrastructure; your information may be processed and stored in Australia and other countries where our infrastructure providers operate. We limit access to personal information to what each system and team member needs.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Disconnecting a social account wipes its credentials instantly. If you want your data removed, contact us at stan@kindlingtech.co and we will delete it. If you want to know what we hold about you, ask — we will provide a full summary.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting stan@kindlingtech.co. If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us first and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy
